Senor Juan Pozo Alvarez, Head of the Caribbean Division of the Cuban
Institute of Friendship with the Peoples is on a stop-over in St. Kitts - Nevis
during his working visit to the Caribbean. The visit is being undertaken in an
effort to deepen and widen the solidarity of friendship between the Republic
of Cuba and the Caribbean.
Telca Wallace, District Coordinator, NEMA & President of Cuba - St.
Kitts/Nevis Friendship Association accompanied him during his visit to St.
Kitts and also to Nevis. As part of the visit, courtesy calls were made to the
Hon. Sam Condor, Minister of Education ...; Mr. Geoffrey Hanley, Director of
Youth, St. Kitts; Mrs. Astonia Browne, Permanent Secretary - National
Security, Immigration and Foreign Affairs; Hon. Hensley Daniel, Deputy
Premier & Minister of Social Development, Nevis Island Administration.
Mr. Alvarez also visited the NEMA offices in St. Kitts and the Nevis Disaster
Management Department offices in Nevis. He also had meetings with
Associations including the St. Kitts/Nevis Friendship Association and
students of the Washington Archibald High School. He was featured on a
Sugar City Rock program and had a radio & TV interview with the
Government Information Service.
Senor Alvarez expressed his sincere appreciation for the program that was
organised to facilitate his brief but productive visit to the Federation. Cuban
